PDIS
Professional Development Information System
The Professional Development Information System (PDIS) is a web-based system supporting professional development for Colorado’s early childhood workforce.
Knowledgeable and skilled early educators are the single most important factor in high-quality early care and education environments. PDIS supports early childhood professionals in many ways including:
-
Supporting individual professionals
-
Providing online self-paced courses
-
Connecting professionals with and tracks training and education
-
Calculates credentials
-
Provides information to the QIRS system
-
Provides info on the EC workforce
The Colorado Shines PDIS lets you document and quantify your professional accomplishments through three types of early childhood Credentials:
-
Early Childhood Professional Credential — A voluntary system for all Colorado early childhood professionals to document and quantify their professional growth and accomplishments. Also used to define and advance the profession. Learn more about the Early Childhood Professional Credential. View Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Scoresheet
-
Coaching Credential — Recognizes coaches who have the skills needed for effective coaching in the early childhood field who engage in regular reflection. Learn more about the Coaching Credential.
-
Trainer Credential - Strengthens Colorado’s early childhood training system by establishing professional standards and required skills for early childhood trainers. Learn more about the Trainer Credential.
The new PDIS (ECPC 3.0) simplifies the Credential application process, but the requirements for these Credentials have not changed significantly.
